Yuba Bows tomorrow
#1
Saturday is looking very promising for a trip down to Yuba.

Myself, HCD, and BassAckwards are heading down south to Yuba in the wee early morning hours to attack them yuba bows. Anyone else going to be out there?

We all will be toon bound.

Oh BTW If I were to get alot of those minnows, would I have to include them inthe legal limit?

Would hate to have some lurking over reactor bite my head off for putting out minnow traps. Wink

[#505000]Fishluvr and I are looking to take the families out there tomorrow too. Pike are high on my list to catch (and release until they get bigger in size and numbers) and a big fat bow would be nice. [/#505000]

[#505000]We also are going after minnows but I plan to put them in a plastic baggy and back over them in my car before I leave. Since I may miss one or two with that method I better go on to plan "B" and smash each one individually with a 10lb rock before I bag it.[/#505000]

Bwahahahah! I will have my ears peeled to channel 12. Those Pike do look fun aye?

so your saying you are going to murder each and every minnow. Ya know PETA is gonna be on your case if you do that, better kep them in a livewell til you get home.

Yes there is a limit .... if the minnows happen to be "game fish" then the legal bag limit would apply - I suppose.

after all that smashing you will have to use them as dough balls not cut bait anymore. later chuck

[#0000ff]I was thinking about going to Yuba tomorrow but not if I have to bring my own rock to stand on. I think I might go to Mantua and stock up on some perch for dinner and bait strips.[/#0000ff]

[#ff4040]Sounds like a lot of Yuba bound fisherpeoples. For the lucky me (who has to work all weekend) I will just have to wait for the reports. Hey do you think that if you drowned the minnows you could bring them home that way?[Tongue][/#ff4040]

[#0000ff]Might be coming down next weekend...either Saturday or Sunday. I gotta get in a shot at Lincoln Beach this week too. The walleyes are calling and I am not responding. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]That's the trouble with this time of year. Too early for ice fishing, but plenty of late fall activities to choose from. But, just when you make your plans, Mama Nature gets all huffy and messes you up.[/#0000ff]

It was rough. One failed hookup from a decent bow, and caught a 4 incher (with all fins intact) which means it wasn't a planter or they forgot to clip it. I caught a 12 inch perch. The bows just weren't hitting anything artificial yesterday. Power bait is the only thing that got the bows. And it wasn't quick fishing for them either.

For that long of a drive and lousy action I don't think I will be heading down to Yuba again this year. If I go down south, its WAY down south to catch me some bass. Wink

[#505000]Not the fastest trip ever but everyone in our party of 4 got at least 2 fish. I'll post an official report Monday with Pics. [/#505000]
