All I can say is ouch, and.....
#1
[pirate]All I can say in ouch, and pass the pain pills! Thank the good man who invented Percocet! Got my ACL reconstructed and meniscus repaired in my right knee on Monday. I was totally obliterated on Tuesday. Then on Wed. I couldn't even climb into my truck or car to get to the physical therapist. I ended up sliding into the bed of my truck and had my wife drive me to PT office. After having a pain pump removed from my knee I about passed out. Now I'm just kicking back on my couch making the most of watching the outdoor channel between pain pills. Oh what fun! Sure wish I was fishing with you all. If you hear any bellering out on Bear Lake on Friday morning, its probably me at the physical therapist in Garden City getting worked over. Nice!

Scott,
I don't care how many or what type of pain pills they have you on. Nor do I care how much pain you're in. I have a new sled and you promised you'd take me turfin some yotes when I got back. I'm back and I want to go! Never tease tease the IFG with these things! Get better and we'll go riding. My new sled is a 600XLT with a 159 track. I hope to keep up with you. Get better soon. That's an order!

Well that's a big surgery! How did you tear your ACL? Did they end up using a graft from your knee cap, or did your doc use a cadaver graft? About a year ago my boss switched to the cadavar grafts, and so far we've been having good results. The long term studies suggest they work just as well as an allograft, plus it really cuts down on the postop pain, which is nice. Make sure you let the physical terrorists put you on the rack! It's the best way to get your knee bak to 100%. Good luck with your recovery, and get out fishin' soon.

BLFG,
I am a Physical Therapist so first of all thanks for keeping us in business and alllowing us to afford fishing tackle...We love you! I'm sure you are in good hands with your PT in Garden City. Follow his/her advice and let him/her stretch you a little farther than your knee feels like it wants to go and he/she will have you good in no time at all. Just one question. You said you had a meniscus REPAIR. Usually with a REPAIR you will be non weight bearing and on crutches for 4-6 weeks. Is this the case or did they just trim up a tear in which case you should be off crutches and limping around in 2 weeks. Good luck, I really do know what your going through![cool] Let me know if you have any questions.

And now so this post doesn't get moved to the O.T. board should we discuss how to mount a reel onto your crutch to convert it to a dual purpose crutch/fishing pole??? Talk about versitility![Wink]
