Well it's not just the safety of the ice in question here, you know. The steep, slick, rocky dam can also be considered utterly hazardous in that if you were to take small guys along you could be endangering their lives! Not to mention the ice variability when there's . . .
(Sorry, couldn't resist. I mean, you did kinda ask for it.)
I'd love to head up there too. Maybe someone will have some details for us!

You are right about the walk down. I took my 4 year old grandson last winter and pulling him back up the hill on the sled was not fun. One slip on my part and he would have tumbled all the way down to the ice. I didn't take him back there after that. We went to the safety of Rockport.

I hear that. I'm just curious to keep watching Rockport info to see if the perch are still out deep, or indeed MIA. That would be a shame!

I'll bet it's a combination of both this year. They will be harder to locate and fewer in numbers.

I went to lost creek today. There's still a large portion of the lake that's not frozen. I wouldn't consider it safe, but I didn't drive around to the boat ramp to look there.
