Causey Report 12/26
#1
We hit Causey 12/26 from sun-up to Noon. We caught approx 30 fish......most of them were splake in the 7-9inch range. We were in 14 to 24 ft of water just off the point directly across from the dam. Used a silver castmaster as attractor and a pink ratfinkie with a wax worm just off the bottom. You would get a lot of hits as soon as you dropped your bait.
We did manage to land (2 of us) a rainbow and 3 Kokes.
It was fun....but I wish we could have found the bigger fish. Spoke to several other parties....didnt see or hear of any others catching fish like we were.

My son and grandsons joined me up there on Monday. Fishing was slow for us, but we had two first timmers and we spent a lot of time teaching them how to ice fish. We picked up a lot of small Splake and did get one nice 14" Tiger and one Koke. It was a great day with my son and grandkids even with the rain most of the day. Ice was very safe at 6" to 7" but slippery with no snow cover. The trip back up the dam was a workout.
