Has anyone got a recent report on the ice condition at OC??

Don't know much about the ice, but Otter Creek is for sure on my "honey to do list" come ice off, in the boat, should be some real nice fish this spring. It's not that I don't enjoy fishing year-round, just have not ice fished much since Minnesota a long time ago.

[cool][#0000ff]Not RECENT, but just before the warm spell hit, I talked with someone who had been by Otter Creek (not fishing). He observed several people icing some big chunky bows through about 5" of ice. Probably changed since then. At least it sounds like the trout are coming on good.[/#0000ff]

Over New Year's weekend there was not any safe ice on Otter Creek. I would be surprised if there is fishable ice now. The weather has just been way too warm...

I'd be interested to hear anything different.

heres what i know, the last warm spell wiped all of the ice out there, however on monday 4 fishermen filled their limits with nice fat trout, the smallest was rumored at 3lbs. monday night tuesday morning the lake had once again capped. That is the last time i have been to the marina store. I can find out more though, but it will probably be in 2 weeks, when i make my next trip over that way.

When the ice was fishable the reports were good for larger fish.

Friday evening (13th) after I posted on this thread, I heard that Otter Creek (as well as Fishlake) had both capped again with ice. Since Friday, we have had some cold nights (especially last night). I would assume that both have safe ice covering the lakes.

I would also think that Minersville should have a good layer of ice as well.
