Got on the ice at 7:30am fished behind the lodge hoping to get into the early morning bite but it never happened. The fishing was the slowest I have experienced all winter. I did catch 7 B4B caught 10 and Tevin caught 4 all before noon. SkippyTheLureker and BigBuck3333 finaly got on the ice at 12:00 (I just don't know about these half day fisherman) with the snowmobiles then we headed over to East Portal Bay and fished untill 4:00. Iced another 4 and I was the lucky one,B4B picked up 1 more. Slow day at the berry. Skippy and BigBuck3333 stayed all night, hope it picked up for them. The ice keeps getting thicker its at least 16" with alittle slow on it. 4-wheelers can get around easily if their at the maina, not sure about the other areas.

MGB- Sounds like it cooled off from last night. We probably passed you on the way down (left the lake at 4 a.m.). There was a lot of people "camping" up there, was it packed and people everywhere? Seems like the weekends are getting crowded up there.

The marina area was packed, tons of people every where. Skippy and BigBuck couldn't find a place to park when they got there at 10:30.
TKB- Didn't catch any bows the biggest cutts that where caught where two 21 inchers, 2 under the slot cutts where caught today. I have been catching over the slot cutts more times than not but not this time.

Mike, I can add another 8 to the Marina tally. I caught my first about 9:15. I saw quite a few driveby's, yet the active fish were few and far between.
I was the last one left on the northside until a couple of snowmobiles brought out a small village to point. I was the farest one out towards Haw's point.
All were over 18". Plus, one right at 22".
The Marina parking lot was outrageous. I couldn't believe the poor equitte of some of the big trailers. Alot of room was taken up unnecessarily. I had to squeese in near the gas pumps.
Also, I had pull a Ford Ranger out of a wayward snowbank around the corner from the fee station part way to the Mudcreek entrance.

That small village could of been Skippy and Big Buck3333 with their family and friends. They had about 3 tents,4 snomobiles and about 8-10 friends and family members. They relocated over that way about 4:00pm and fished untill 9:00pm.
You can usually count on the first 3 hours being fast catching but yesterday it never did get going even at first light. I did catch 3 back to back to back at the 11:00 hour and Bugln4Bulls and his son caught a few during that hour but that was the high light of the day.

It seems like this trip was more about the food than the catchin of fish. That was some good burgers and hot dogs your team cooked out on the ice.
I'll get the tire for ya next time I am up there, strawberry is like a magnet it keeps pulling me back up there.

Hey Mike,
I'm glad to hear I wasn't the only one having a bad day at the berry...
We (my cousin and I) arrived at Mud Creek at 6:40, used the bathroom and headed out on the ice to our "secret spot" we have marked on the GPS. (It's no secret, just smack in the middle of mudcreek...) and to make a long story short, by noon we had only iced 8 cuts between us! We missed a lot of bites, but the fish just didn't seem to be around as much and the ones that did come around didn't always bite. I'm officially blaming it on the full moon.
I'm supposed to take the scouts up on the 28th and we had planned on going to Strawberry...but now I'm not sure! I hope it picks up by next week!

I used to N.ot have E.nough T.ime O.ff to go fishing. Then I retired. Now I have less time than I had before. Sheesh.
