Skunked. Lots of effort, I thought. No fish. I covered from 24 to 48 ft fishing in a bunch of holes. I saw a few trout iced and a few perch , but no numbers.

Oh well, I'll be out there again tomorrow. maybe a litte earlier. I plan to christen the "Perch Palace". A couple of buddies are coming over after they get off a graveyard shift driving sno-cats. They are always a riot. Think like it's Saturday night for them and they just got off work. We'll have a good time fish or not.
I hope the fishing picks up. It may have something to do with the new snow cap. It shuts out the light. Maybe their schooled up out in the open water where they can get some light.

How was the ice?
Is the open water growing or is the lake refreezing?

Every where I fished there was 5-7 of good solid ice. No slush. The lake seemed to be freezing. It sang a couple of times and the holes would skim over in 15 mins.
Looking at the hole in the middle yesterday and today I can't see where it's gotten any smaller.
