Launch boat or drill holes at Jordanelle?
#1
I'm going to Jordanelle on Saturday and would like somebody who drives past to report on the PWC boat ramp conditions tomorrow (Friday) sometime...(I can't remember who it is that drives past everyday...)
If the PWC ramp is clear...I'm taking the boat. Otherwise, I'm taking the auger.

Thanks!

I used to N.ot have E.nough T.ime O.ff to go fishing.  Then I retired.  Now I have less time than I had before. Sheesh.

[cool][#0000ff]I will be going up tomorrow to hit the ice, either off the main launch area (frozen) or at Rock Cliffs. [/#0000ff]

There is open water on the PWC ramp side of the marina, but I can't see it from where I drive past every day, three or four days ago it was open and clear of snow, but we've had quite a bit of snow up here over the last 24 hours and it's snowing pretty good right now, it won't be open unless they go down and plow it.

[cool][#0000ff]As Philly points out, the snow could be an issue, but at least this year the length of the ramp at the PWC launch is very short, with the higher water.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I probably won't have my report until evening tomorrow, but I will post up.[/#0000ff]

Fished Jord. this afternoon for a couple hours , stopped to see if the pwc was clear, it was, but main ramp was frozen. I hit the hard deck on the rock cliff side and very good for the bows. In the time that I wrote that I forgot when you said you were going[crazy] If you are gonna' go in the boat, need some company? If your gonna' hit the ice, wear rubber boots

fished the pwc side from shore, bows a lot biger there than rock cliffs and no slush or snow to contend with , use orange power bait with 40 in leader to keep bait out of moss have to move along shoe a bit uintil you find them. they hit hard orange meat good fish good walking , you can
put a boat in if you want

Thanks for all the information...the only thing I'm worried about now is the w--- which might be an issue tomorrow. I'm gonna wait till this afternoon and decide. Also, sometimes I do go alone, but tomorrow there will be 3 of us...me, my cousin and my neighbors boy, so if I take the boat (14 foot alum), its already full!
I'll either be ice fishing at the Rock Cliffs or Boat fishing in my yellow/tan Mirrocraft.
Thanks again for all the replies!

Randy, or with all of the slush on the ice on the Rock Cliffs side you could launch your boat over there and ice fish and boat fish simultaneously! And if the wind gets too bad you could just get out of your boat and stand on the ice.[Wink]
