Chesterfield Report
#1
I made it to Chesterfield on Sat, but not until 10:00 in the morning. From what people told me I was too late. They said the fishing had been good from about 7-8 in the morning and then shut off. I fished from my pontoon for about two hours without a bite then a storm started to roll in. I think it really helped because I started to get strikes. I caught two 17" rainbows and had 5 other strikes between noon and 1:00. Then all heck broke loose and I was pushed back to the truck by a hurricane force wind. I went back out at 2:00 and fished for two more hours with no strikes.

The fish were just like I remember Chesterfield fish. They were really heavy for their size. When they say football fish that is what they are talking about. Those two 17" fish were really heavy. Anyway it was fun to reacquaint myself with Chesterfield and I can not wait to go back when it is really good.

I fished all kinds of flies but I caught both of them on a size 10 black leech.

Thanks for the report. Those fat Chesterfield fish can pull as hard as smallmouths.
