Fishing Report from Louisiana Fishing Expeditions
#1
Okay, now the fishing reports should start coming in. I’ve been busy doing a lot of projects since the hurricane so reporting Capt. Ben’s fishing reports has been on the back burner for me. There are still no phone lines down in Hopedale so Capt. Ben hasn’t been able to make the reports himself.

------------------------

Here goes the fishing report:

Friday, Capt. Ben took out four people and they all LIMITED OUT on 2 to 4lb. trout. Free lining minnows on reefs in shallow water bays did the trick for catching these trout.

Saturday, he had another group of four and they caught 75 Speckled Trout. He said they could have caught their limit (25 more) but one guy had to be back to catch his flight. Capt. Ben said that when they left, they left with fish biting every cast. Tight lining soft plastic on the reefs in the shallow bays did the trick this day. The trout ranged from 1 to 3 1/2lbs.

Capt. Ben said that when you go fishing these days, you just need to carry all different kinds of bait. He said that never know what they are wanting from one day to the next.

Update on overnight accommodations:

The pilings have been driven and the mobile home (16x80) is now down there. All that we are waiting on is for the guy to lift it and place the beams and bracings under it. Hopefully this will be done in less than a month.
