Willard 6/12/06
#1
Launched out of the north marina about 6:00pm yesterday. We stayed in the northeast corner and just out from the north from the marina all evening. We managed to land 1 small walleye and miss two really good hits off the planer boards right after we started. When the sun started to set the fishing started to get better. We found some active wipers straight out from the north marina about 200 yards. We ended up boating 7 wipers, 2 walleye and one cat fish before we left at 10. We even got one off the surface! The lures of choice were rattle traps in milky white with green backs and four inch white grubs with a green head. The planer boards got all the action until the sun was gone and then the rods out the back of the boat with the grubs got all the action. We were trolling between 2.7 and 3.0 gps speed. The bugs were worse then I have ever seen. We had to put on rain gear to save our exposed skin from the skeeters. All in all it was great evening trip to Willard.

We tried close in by shore but ended up catching all of our fish out aways from the dikes.
