downrigger question

I just bought a used Cannon easi-troll downrigger. Can any one tell me how to reset the three digit depth counter? I replaced the cable on the downrigger and in the process I've got the depth counter way off. Thanks for your help. ZB

The counter is set up on two gears grab the counter and gently pull it out disingaging the gears. Role the gear on the counter with your thumb until it reads zero then push it back in until the gears mesh up. Hope this helps.
