Ririe 7/4/06
#1
Fished the Blacktail area of Ririe for a little more than 2 hours yesterday. Caught several perch. Most were 9"-10". Perch took a small tube jig tipped with a piece of night crawler better than a plain hook with a night crawler. I also caught a sucker that I measure at 18". He had me excited for a minute when he made my reel sing.
The surprise of the day was a rainbow that was about 18"(didn't measure). I haven't caught a rainbow or seen a rainbow caught in Ririe after the F&G stopped planting them a few years ago.
Has anyone else caught a rainbow out of Ririe in the last three years?

Evening Brian,

Thanks for the report. Last fall, fishing the Blacktail end with a couple of disabled friends mine, we had a good afternoon catching some nice rainbows that were in a pod not too far off shore. Nice fish. They suprised me with there size also. However, none at 18" range for us. More in the 15" catagory.

Good to here that there are a few rainbows that are naturally reproducing in Ririe.
Any one else catch any rainbows out of Ririe recently.
