I got to Silver Lake at about 6:00pm last night and fished until around 9:30. It was raining when I got there. But, I put on the raingear and went fishing anyway. I probably only rained for about 1/2 hour. The wind blew most of the evening. It was just hard enough that I got a pretty good work out just keeping the tube in the middle of the lake. In fact the wind probably helped. When the wind did die down for a few minutes the fish wouldn't bite. I fished a fly and bubble and caught 40 fish including several 14" bows, some smaller bows, some small brookies, and one 4" shinner.

Sounds like a good time. I'm still trying to figure out how to get anything up there. Last time I went I hiked up to Twin Lakes Reservoir. There was nobody else up there, It was nice, but no luck. On the way back down I trew a bubble and fly into Silver Lake and got a few bites, but it was around 10:00 pm and I knew I was already in for the evil eye from my wife because I forgot my phone. So I had to leave but I feel confident that next time it will be on.

They can be fickle there. I have always done better out in the middle. And sometimes I just can't figure out what fly they want. Also 10:00 pm is a little late for good fishing. They are kind of sleepy heads.
