Does anyone have any information on High Creek, just east of Richmond in Cache County? Fishable? Is there water year-round?
PM me if you prefer.

Unfortunately, I had to spend 3 weeks in Louisiana followed by 3 weeks in California. Ugh.
I'm back now, and headed out for a quick trip overnight. I'm going to have to hustle to get in the final campgrounds before the snow flies.
I covered a lot of northern Utah between Tuesday and Wednesday: MonteCristo, Farmington Canyon, Logan Canyon, Mantua, Hyrum, Green Canyon and Richmond areas. Some rough-and-tumble backroads, for sure. At one point I was on a mountain road looking at Pineview and Cache Valley at the same time--pretty unique--then popped over the ridge to see the beginnings of the Great Salt Lake.
Sadly, didn't do more that 10 minutes of fishing. I did discover some pretty remote campgrounds, though.

What do you do that takes you on such travels? Sounds interesting. You've driven by some nice fishing there....

The out of state travel is not glamorous at all--just going around to new retail developments doing fixture installation. Pays the bills.
When I'm not on the road I gotta get out of the house, so I'm working on a book about the best 50 tent camping sites in Utah for an outdoors publisher--hence the darting around to different sites. I'm checking out campgrounds and reviewing them. Some have been great surprises, others complete let-downs. I'm a little more than halfway done now (most of southern Utah is done), and it will be published in early spring of 2007.
I do drive by a lot of nice fishing. Unfortunately, I rarely get the chance to take advantage of it. Sigh.

I live in Richmond and I haven't even been up there this summer. There are fish in High Creek year round above where they dewater it. I know there are browns and I'm sure some cutts, bows and white fish. Most of the water is fast with a few hole behind rocks and such. I don't fish it because it's not quite my style of fishing but I have caught a few fish in there on hoppers years ago.
