Great time on the Weber
#1
I had one of those days this week. There was a boatload of crap from work. After work today I stopped by to visit may dad. He's in a rehab center recovering from surgery. My wife is out of town for a couple of days with her sister, so our home is empty. A friend called; he had rotator cuff surgery. Mom called, my sister is coming in from Idaho for a visit, I wasn't invited. My daughter-in-law has a weird virus that causes her immune system to destroy her blood platelets. She is being treated and prognoosis is good.

I tied me a few San Juan worms and headed to the river. Left home about 7:30, so I knew I couldn't fish very long. There were a lot of stupid jerks on the road. I took the Peterson/Stoddard exit and found a place to access the river. I had a SJ worm attractor and a green cadis nymph dropper. When it got dark, I swithced to a subsurface style.

The half moon, the crickets, the water swirling around my shins, the soft splash of the feeding fish, the smell of the sage and willows, the cool breeze, the sound of the river... good therapy for an hour or so. I didn't catch any fish. I didn't care. This trip wasn't about catching fish.

Catching a fish isn't always what it's about, is it!
I hope that everything gets back to normal soon for you and your family. That is if normal is good! [Wink]

Fishing is good for the soul. I will keep you in my prayer. I have been though hell this year and it does get better.
