Willard this morning 9/8
#1
The captain and I hit Willard at daybreak. No boils, cast at a few risers, nothing. Trolled by the feed lot and caught a couple wippers. couldn't keep the catfish off for a little while. Slow action so we headed for the north dike for a while. One wiper. Back over to the south marina started trolling and hooked up a double. Marked the GPS and went back through the honey hole. Another double hook up. We hooked up doubles each pass till we had our limits and turned some small ones back. There wasn't a boil but a little top water action without birds. Right time, right place, right lure. Saw other boats in the area, couldn't tell if they were catching also. We were busy putting out and catching fish. We were in the C-Dory. Talked some folks in the parking lot as we left about 11:30 and they hadn't done much. Was any of you out there, and how did you do? We were trolling with diving shad-raps but I think any shad match would have caught fish. Willard can change so fast when it comes to wipper fishing.

Were you in the C-Dory named "Top Kick"? We saw that C-Dory tonight at Willard South. There can't be that many of those boats around.
We had an OK night, stayed by the feedlot area, sasw one small boil right on the rocks and caught 2 keeper Wipers. Used blue shad excalibur's. Deep runners at 3.4 mph.
