Wanna kiss a carp???
#1
[cool][#0000ff]There's an article in the Utah section of the Salt Lake Tribune this morning about the friendly carp in the Bear Lake Marina. Seems they are protected and know it. They hang around looking for handouts and will actually take food from humans...including french fries held between your lips...providing a "carp smooch".[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I don't know. I like catchin' 'em, but not sure I could go for gettin' that "up close and personal". [/#0000ff]

The article says they are protected, and then it talks about catching them to eat. I don't get it. Any explaination?

[cool][#0000ff]The guy that owned the docks (and put up the "no fishing" signs) is the one that caught the carp for the table. When you are the boss, you can bend the rules. Kinda like a farmer posting his property against hunters but being able to go out and shoot a few pheasants himself.[/#0000ff]

HMMM. THE LAW ON POSTING STATES THAT NO HUNTING INCLUDES LAND OWNERS. SO THATS WHY THE POST NO TRESPASSING. SO THEY CAN STILL HUNT IT THEM SELVES. BEEN THREW THIS A TIME OR TWO. SAME WITH NO FISHING.

[cool][#0000ff]There's a difference between "No Trespassing" and "No Hunting".[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Also, since the guy owns the docks, he can set whatever kind of regulations he wants. Of course carp are not protected, as a species, so any that are caught away from the dock are fair game.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Sounds like something either kinky, immoral or illegal.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I know you like to feed them arrows...and if they won't eat willingly that you have been known to "force feed" them.[/#0000ff]

In Germany they eat carp like we eat turkey, its for holiday times and its a favorite. When I heard this I thought they were crazy, but my sister-in-law live there for 3 years and lived off-base in a small village and thats what she tells me.

[cool][#0000ff]Carp are prettier than some people I know. And they got less facial hair.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]But, I dunno. Even with a wig and some heavy makeup I don't think you could make a carp worth smoochin' for me.[/#0000ff]
