Stone Reservoir

Has anyone tried Stone Reservior this summer? I went down and looked at it when I was heading to Iowa on vacation. Talking with the fishers they were only catching trout. I have heard there are some crappie there.

Fished Stone Reservoir for the first time a couple of years ago. I, too, heard some stories about Crappie. All we caught were planted trout. Not really scheduled a return trip until someone else can provide some Crappie stories.

I too have heard lots of stories about Stone having bass, channel cats, crappie, and who knows what else (lots of carp). I have usually also caught planter trout trolling in the boat, but never got into any other species. I think they are in there, but not in high populations. Acey
