if i remember correctly, there have been a few instances of fisherfolks in bass tourneys over the last few years, who got busted for 'illegal fish'.
They motored over to a spot where they had a bunch of fish, previously caught, and put them in their boat....so they could claim that they caught them during the tourney.

How is this any different than what you witnessed?
It's not, in my opinion, and is probably worse.

naw, ya need a vidiocam, and wait till after they publish the pictures then send them a copy of the vidio...LOL

I could understand bringing them in to shore if they were afraid of taking the camera out on the lake. But bringing them from home is another thing all together...

I do know this, In tennessee it is illegal to transport live fish across land in a live well. there was a contender to the small mouth world record several years back, the guy put it in his live well, "from where no one knows" and drove it to a tackle shop, not only did he not get to clame the world record, he got a heafty fine for his efforts.

no doubt if you saw him holding up live fish from another sorce other than being caught from the lake the fish were caught you could have created some major problems for them.

Strike King Lure First of all, I think you have your facts wrong about being against the law about the bass being used. These bass were caught in a tournament held by Strike King, BlueBank Resort & War Eagle Boats on Sunday October 15th on Reelfoot Lake. And yes, These bass ALL came from Reelfoot Lake. All of these bass were release right back into the waters they came from with NO harm done to them.

For the Pros catching their won bass. The entire Pro Staff at Strike King Lure Company total several Millions of $$$ 's won in tournaments throught the years.

What the pros do during this event is have writers from all over the United States come in and do articles/stories on the baits, pros and ways to use these baits. These ideas are for you & I to learn from and become better fishermen/fisherwomen.

We are sorry if you have gotten the wrong impression of what went on at Reelfoot Lake. Nothing anyone did was wrong, against the law in any way. These are simply one way these baits are marketed and shown for you & me to learn more about What/How/When to use these baits in many situations. this was another reply from strike king
James, Thanks for the email. The fish you saw were all caught in Reelfoot lake, I can assure you of that. The Pro’s you saw were all there for the Annual Strike King Media conference where we bring in members of the media to do photo shoots and to write stories , article etc…. The photographers are looking for scenery on and around the lake that best suites a story or article or just looks good. Different backgrounds etc… for different baits. I can assure you all fish were caught in Reelfoot lake and all fish were returned back to the lake alive and healthy. Non fish were transported in or out of Reelfoot. Thanks for the email and I hope this answers your questions.

Strike King Lure Company this was my reply as it is against the law to transport or move fish in tn from other areas they broke the law. there were several people who witnessed it i also prostaff for a fishing group and and would not bring fish in to a lake from another area as for laws and fish deseases . takeing pictures of fish caught elsewhere and put on a fishing line in another lake out of there livewell,is wrong and there are alot of people upset at the arrogance and neglect of the laws and fishing regulations and the assocation of the strike king group.its a Sad day for southern fishermen when prostaffers cant cant catch fish what they endorse and use and have to bring fish in for pictures.

that my friend is why I said you need a vidio camera, has to be un edited, has to film them backing the boat in the water and reaching in the live well and pulling the bass out.

now if the bass were dead, no law was broken, they can go from lake to lake all day long and take pictures. the law states no transporting of live game fish over ground. they can not be transfered from public to public, public to privet, or privet to public, or privet to privet.

the only exception is when you have a permit from the TWA to transport fish bought from a licensed fish farm to be planted in public or privet waters.

all you succeeded in doing is making them watch thier back a little closer, next time they will pull out on the lake a little further where on lookers wont be able to see them.

in the future if you think some one has broken the law you should contact Tennessee Wildlife Athority and let them know about it. dont bother contacting whom ever you think is backing an event, you are just tipping them off when their lackies are slacking off and giving them all the chance to get their stories streight.
