Curious if anyone could tell me where would be the best part of the beaver to fish this time of the year. Im planning on going up this sun/mon do some fly fishing for brown trout. Would area around minersvile be a good area ( i know most is private property), or would be higher in the drainage better? I never been up there so i would appreciate the help if anyone had good info about it i also want to do some dry fly as well so help would be greatly appreciated.

A few miles below (west) of Minersville Res. there is good access. I fished it in the early summer when it was still murky and did well nymphing, but I would bet dries and streamers are the ticket right now. Just go west of the lake toward the town of Minersville and watch for the fencing to end after a few miles. There are a few dirt roads you can take to the stream and park right by it. A little farther down there are some access ladders over the fences too.

well im back from my little trip up to beaver to fish on the river the river is much more like a creek and didnt expect it to be so low. with very little luck me and my father decided to visit minersville. All i will say is FISH ARE HUGE 19 - 25inchs big fat rainbows. if you want some large trout go up there be remember the regulations and obey them because thats the reason why the fish are that nicely sized. Artifical Flies and Lures only and 1 fish limit must be atleast 22inches in length. The lake is pretty low this time of the year and you see alot of dead crayfish must be what the fish are eating and growing in that size as well. That lake is hot right now!! plus i got a wicked sunburn but hey was well worth it! Btw we released every fish safely back wasnt much in a trout eating mood lately.
