My buddy and I just decided to build ourselves an 8x8 shack with a 8 foot high roof with a 10 inch pitch to it. I will probably have it built by early December.

[black]Dang near nothing ! And it's got lot's of head room. And almost an unlimited capacity of fishing buddies can join in the fun.[/black]
[black][/black]
[black]A couple of bad things though, everybody can see when I'm not catching no fish, if I am catching, they can see that too - and come over to help, and there has been a time or two when it did get a bit breezy. [/black]

Here is a picture of my old Ice Shelter, Viking, it wasn't bad. Here it is set up on a cove near Squaw Hollow, Flaming Gorge Reservoir, Wyoming.

Just purchased a medium cabin from Otter, no pictures yet, but will post some when I get out with it.

[black]Yea, I can really relate ! [/black]
[black][/black]
[black]I was in the bucket brigade until I upgraded to the fancy deluxe model with the cheapo fold up chair. Now that I fish in the lap of luxury, I can say for sure that buckets can be brutal on the behind. By all means if or when you can, upgrade and get your self one of those chairs. [/black]

I am a wide load so I have to use 2 five gallon buckets.[sly]
I seldom sit, I do for a few minutes at a time, I work a couple rods, one set with live bait and one for jigging, my live set may be as far as 50 feet away so I have to be on my toes when the rod goes down, I hate haveing to fish them back up when they go though... it takes several hours to clean the sand out of the gears and get it all dried out.

It only took them 40 years to perfect it. Ok, so they are two of my all time favorite movies, but see what happens when you throw a fish in the movie, it makes millions. just look what throwing a fish in the film did for the lord of the rings [sly]
Wabasha is a beutiful town, from what of it I could see from the film. Like the lake as well, Would have loved to been the angler who had to pull out the extras from the lake to star with the stars.

I do a lot of fishin around wabasha, yeah nice area, famous for the GOM movies! Funny thing is, none of the movie was even filmed there! All the ice fishing scenes are filmed on lake rebecca, near rockford MN, another lake I fish sometimes.
I was in Slippery's a few weeks ago, even had a "catfish hunter" sandwich. It is definitely a different place than in the movie. They do that both movies playing non stop on two TVs in there though, and they have one of the original ice shantys and the green hornit ice pole![cool]
