Rockport/Echo Ice Report

I was in the area and decided to drive by. Rockport has an ice cap on the extreme upper are near the inlet. It covered about 1/8 of the reservoir. It was thin but held up ok under a rock test. Didn't walk on it.

As for Echo it was in a little better shape. The upper 1/3 of the reservoir was iced and all the edges around the reservoir were iced about 7 feet out with 1 inch ice. The ice was not building though. Still a long way away from fishing these two on a hard deck.

A buddy and I went up to Echo yesterday and fished it from the bank with Powergoo and had a good day.Fished from 9:30 till 2:30.Caught 5 or 6 each all nice fat footballs about 16 inchers.The bite shutdown at 12:30 just when we thought we'd start keeping a couple for dinner.Had one caught right at 2:30 when we were packing up to go home.Fun day but -1 when we got there about 9:30.Dress warm!!
