Scofield tomorrow
#1
I was planning on waiting until next week to start ice fishing but I can't take it anymore. I am heading out to scofield tomarrow morning.

Thing is I am used to fishing the Berry and not sure how to fish out at Scofield. I am planning on fishing near the damn.

Any advice would be very helpful. Also do I need to take my truck or can I make it in my car. If I can do it in the car I would like to save the gas money for more fishing stuff.

Weather looks clear for tomorrow so getting there in a car should be no problem. The road is paved and plowed all the way, but it can be a little touchy when there is a storm.
Tipping with minnows and crawlers seemed to greatly out perform minnow chunks last weekend when we were there.
In the past jigs in the white 2 - 3 inch range produced well, but last weekend they seemed to like their offering a little smaller than that. Ice flies, genz worms, ratfinkies, etc. Good luck, let us know how it went.

i just got back from scofield. i'll post a full report on here, with pics ASAP. as far as your questions- today was clear and almost no wind. the roads are fine for a car. plowed, paved, and dry. i went past the dam and parked in a large pulloff near some old shacks. you wouldnt have any trouble parking there. and its not too bad of a walk down to the water from there. i'll post up on how i did, and what methods worked best.

good luck, bkidder

Thanks, bkidder. How was the fishing? I always park at the cabins and then walk across the lake to the island. Not too bad of walk, but this time I'll have my nephews. How deep was the ice? What depth were the trout hitting at? I usually hit them at about 25 feet. Paddle bugs tipped with a was worm?

no problem. we caught fish anywhere from 12 to almost 30 feet deep. 25 was probably best.
