Huntington 12/9
#1
We went to Huntington Saturday w/ Lightfoot & DeYoungFisherman, and enjoyed a beautiful day on the ice. It got warmer than we'd have liked, and the snow on top got quite slushy. But the blue skies were gorgeous. Not too many on the pond with us. [9 degrees when we arrived, 41 when we left.]
But we sure caught the tigers! And one small cutt. Our finders were fish-filled all morning and right through the afternoon. As fish came through, it was as if one school was active and the next were not. Hot & cold, but one of us always on them. Sizes ran only 13 - 14 inches, but as I said plenty of them. We switched up so often to try different sizes and colors it almost got ridiculous. But once we hit on something it was dynamite for the next hour. Pink, white, and chartreuse all had their moments for us, on a variety of small jigs.
Got some really great footage recorded from DeYoungFisherman's Aqua-Vu! Numbers of fish fighting for your jig, flying up off the bottom to attack ... it was great to bring it home to watch.

Thanks for the report! Glad you got into some of them.

Those AquaViews can be fun. I had a tiger muskie looking at a jigging spoon for about 5 minutes on the AquaView once.... Really crazy! He never did take it! [mad]

We showed up early Saturday afternoon and parked at the dam, stayed until 3pm Sunday. Caught a few missed a few.. Kicked myself hard and swift for not hooking up to the sled trailer before leaving the house..

Did you see all the kite-boarders on top of the summit? There must have been 25 or more. We sat and watched them for a half-hour while we ate a snack and warmed a bit. Those guys are amazing! Makes me wish I wasn't so old.
