Fished mud creek 730AM-1130.Meet tlspyder13,who was there with his brother, and brothers girlfriend. He noticed my bigfishtackle sticker, and came over to say hello, glad he did.Lots of wind in the morning, but not cold.Caught five cutts on tubes and a glow ice cut'r bug. They seemed to want mealworms today.Marked lots of fish on my Vexilar, most of them turned down anything I had in front of them.

Didn't catch a thing until we moved back behing Fishcrazy to our original holes. Was nice talking with you Fishcrazy. Caught 3 in about 20 min before we had to leave. Largest was 22 inches and returned for another day. I was using a white tube jig with some minnow. My brothers girlfriend caught one. She had a green jig with a worm. Slow day.
There was five to eight inches of ice everywhere we drilled holes. We drilled a lot of holes looking for the fish. Only about a inch of snow on the ice. Thirty five degrees before daylight and thirty nine when we left just before 11:30.

Those are not very good ice making temps! Hope it gets colder and some other parts of the lake freeze up! Thanks for the report!

Thanks for the report guys. Sounds like the ice is holding up just fine in this hot spell. Hearing hardly any slush is also refreshing. Heading up in the a.m. Should hit the parking lot by 7 a.m. Hope to run into the other BFT'ers going. It's supposed to be windy, so I'll be in a big black shelter with red lettering on it - 2 guys with me.

Hey, I could have caught plenty of fish. But I'm a gentelmen and let you and my girl have the fun for the day. And his your fish was 21 inches not 22. (just shy of the regulations)
It was a slow day tho. I drilled holes up to about 30-40 yards away from the ice edge and still had 6-7 inches of solid ice. I will be going up tomorrow and stay in the deep water all day.

I've got to work tomorrow, but plan on slipping over some time after lunch. I'm sure with the questionable ice in CCE last week and the warm temps this week that mud creek will be the only place to fish. I'm solo and don't really like testing the limits of the ice without a partner. If you guys are still around in the afternoon I'll stop by and show you all how to catch em'.

[cool]Hey Phil, how'd ya do Friday afternoon? I'm thinking about going next Saturday where you and fishhound knocked 'em dead at. With these cold temps coming up, I'm sure that it will be getting cold enough up there to make that area solid again, and that's my favorite place to ice fish on the whole lake...
