Rockport ice conditions, it's safe baby
#1
I drove to Rockport this morning to check the ice conditions. My first stop was at the outhouse by the damn. The ice there was 5 inches thick, crystal clear and solid as a rock. I drove down to the second outhouse and found a group of 4 fishermen already out on the ice. They hadn’t caught any yet but said they were looking for perch. I walked probably 200 yards from shore and re-drilled some holes from some other persons outing yesterday; the ice was still 4 inches thick. I noticed some blood and scales from perch around the holes. I’ll be back up tomorrow for some fish. The edges are solid as well. I wanted to drive to the marina and drill some holes from that side but I just didn't have the time.

I’ll be testing my Eskimo quick fish ice tent the wife got me for Christmas. If there are any fellow BFTers heading up tomorrow stop let me know how you did.

PS my hats off to the DOT crew who plow Parleys Summit. I left Rockport at 10:35 and was able to haul azz and get my son to school by 11:10. And, can some one please PM me and explain how to attach pictures to a post from adobe photoshop. I have some from Mud Creek last week I would like to share.

[#0000ff]On those pics, take them out of Photoshop and put them in a file or on your desktop. Then follow the directions on Browse, open, upload, etc. If you have problems, email them to me and I will edit them into a post for you.[/#0000ff]

Good to hear rockport is capped. My little girl will be excited, she realle enjoys our annual perch fest. She does most of the catching and I do the baiting, setting and fish removal.
I will second the remark about the DOT and parleys. I run that canyon 5 days a week and the 2 miles of HWY 40 and 6 miles of SR 248 that I drive are always much worse than the canyon; in fact, in the last 3 years there has probably only been 2 or 3 trips that have been really hairy.

The real use for photo shop is to resize the photo to 800 pixels wide max.
Open the pic, select Image from menue, select size, type in 800 for width, it automaticlly sets the height. Save this resized image using 'Save as" to your desk top or a hosting site like photo bucket.
Then follow the directions or E-mail them to Pat.
