crappiehunter and I went out to Horseshoe Bend, an oxbow off the Kankakee River today. When we got there it was raining and 54 degrees...we immediatly hooked into a couple real nice crappies, then the rain stopped and the sun started to illuminate the water, then all of a sudden the wind picked up significantly...after the first two fish were taken, we ended up working pretty hard for an additional 3 from another location. When the sun came out for good and the skies cleared up the crappies shut down altogether.
Today we were casting 1/32 oz. marabou jigs tipped with a minnow underneath a float.
The wind became a force we had a difficult time dealing with today...but, all in all, it was another fine day down by the Kankakee...just Mike n me!
