i had been playing with the idea of hitting fish lake for a week now.. was going to head down saturday but some things came up and had to put it off a day..
ok well we got there about 7:30 am and looked grim to start with.. looked like the lake was not iced yet, at lest not all the lake was iced yet.. the north and south end was iced.. so we went to the north end took a look got out punched a hole and seen 6 inches it's ON!
got the gear ready and headed to the east side..
long walk but worth it.
we were fishing 20 to 40 feet deep had Splake,Rainbows,perch on tap all day long! most anything tipped with perch meat cought fish.. a white 1" tube did it most the day for me..

Ron - if you ever quit welding, looks like being a photographer is a worthwhile pursuit. Great picture!!
Any size to 'em? No macks though, huh? I'm thinking you were right on the edge if you were in 20-40 feet of water. Oops, my bad; maybe you were suspended to that depth.
Can you clue me in to exactly where "Joe Bush" is on the lake? I've heard it referred to many times but I can't seem to figure out where it is.

we were close to the edge of the thiner ice.. most all the lake is iced over! there is only small spots of open water. but the ice out in the open lake did not look as safe as the 6 inches we were on so we stayed to the thicker ice..
looks like by the week end fish lake should be good to go most any where..
Joe Bush is betwine bowery and pelacan point.. as far as i know that's where it is.. [sly]

Nice report and pics! I never made it to fish lake in '06. By the way, we drove to Spring City today, but didn't take fishing equipment with us...too cccccold.

lol well Tommy did not go on this one. just TJ and me this time.. i'm still looking into the over night thing there for next week tho.. maybe it will happen this time.. lol
we were very close to going to OC as well but when we seen that the ice was 6 inchs on the caps well we just had to give it a try.. lol
