He's got a point, one of the best fisheries in the US is the Mississippi River. If you're close by, i'd be heading that way. Also, contact your local department of natural resources and they be able to give you info on your local bodies of water; as well as giving you the info you need to be legal.[cool]

thats just so long as you dont dangle your toes in the water off the dock, there are gaters, crocks, snappin turtles and gar pike in them waters....[shocked]

there are thoudsands upon thousands of good places to fish in the mississippi.....
both for fresh and salt water, there is shrimpin to do, craw dads to be had, crabs and lobsters for the mobsters, and ifin you like gumbo just head right down to the delta... other wise give us a little more percice local and we can come up with a hot spot for ya to dip a line or two...[cool] [signature]

Lake Lowdes State Park 6 miles Southeast of MS 69 601-328-9182 This 600-acre park invites its visitors to such activities as a swimming beach, water-skiing, fishing, boating, Nature trails, tennis, game fields, picnicking, playground, concession, indoor recreation complex and camping cabins. The Town Creek Campground has 100 water/electric hookups and 10 primitive sites. Additional amenities include boat ramp, showers and laundry facilities, dump station, fish cleaning stations, handicap accessible sites and facilities, playgrounds, multi-use courts and a swimming area. Important Information Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. 2 night minimum on weekends. 3 night minimum on holidays. Reservations taken 1 March thru 15 September and our Walkin Season (No Reservations Needed) is 16 September thru February 28. This campground is open all year and site fees range from $16-$18 per night. A fee of $3 for extra vehicles (3rd/4th) will be collected at the campground. Gates open at 6am and close at 10pm. Visitor hours 6am-9pm and will be charged $3 per day. Pets are not allowed in the restrooms and must be kept on a leash under 6ft in length. Please be sure to completely extinguish fires, and depost all garbage in dumpsters near the dump station. For more information please call the Waterway Management Center at (662) 327-2142. We do not provide key or combinations for entrance into the campground after 10PM, however, we do provide an emergency exit. Our Park Attendants are on duty 24 hours a day. Registered campers are responsible for securing their campsite and personal property. Getting There From Columbus, MS take Highway 45 north to the junction with Highway 50 west. Turn left and follow Highway 50 west past the Highway 50 Waterway bridge. The intersection is approximately 2 miles west of the bridge. Turn north and follow the signs.
