Howdy BFT visitors and all keen anglers.

You may have noticed a post here from me called "outa here big time".. Yep, coming up to ( a long overdue) holiday time for me and the need to do some serious fishing in the western pacific.

While I am away (14 -28 August) Jerry V from the MA Regional Board will keep an eye on the Baits/Lures Board here and I am sure Mike, plus other moderators, will be dropping in as well.

So I am sure you'll all be in good hands while I am away "working hard" on my holiday. I have become the "tackle ho" from hell as we prepare to go and fish a tourny over their.

You name it, we got it in the tackle boxes. Just have to work out how to not get hit for excess baggage cos the only thing missing at this end is the fish! More artillery than a small army let me tell ya!

That's the problem with having been a boy scout I reckon. Too much preparation and planning. Then again, I am not so sure seeing we have three men and two women anglers in our team.

Either way, the fish are in for a real hard time and plenty of attitude.

Burnin Thumbs!

Steve B
Moderator - Lures/Baits &
Master Jig Builder at
http://www.demonjigs.com

Glad to help out, Steve...I'll be coming by regularly to keep an eye on things while you're gone. Hope the fish are on the bite for you...around here mid-August is "the doldrums" for us, although there's usually topwater action with bonito and false albacore in the 5 to 8lb range. Schools of them swarm around Nantucket Sound in August but the warm water drives the stripers north & into deeper, cooler waters. Anyhow, rest easy about the board while you're gone...I'll keep an eye out.
Tight lines,

Jerry Vovcsko
Moderator: Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island Forums

No worries Jerry

I am not sure that August will be the best fishing time for this location were off to either. Sure is the best time weather wise and I think that's why they make this the tourny time given that many anglers travel a long way take part.

Hey Capt Dan. Noticed you got a great collection of smilies going their and on other boards. Brightens the replies up no end!

AM I GOING TO HAVE FUN? Oh yeah, big time and when I get back there will be a veritable poultice of photo's and fishing yarns, plus and article or two to write as well.

Looking forward to tangling with the Tuna from hell. BIG DOGTOOTH and how mean are they?

Check out the link below!!!!

http://www.kenschultz.com/template2.asp?fishname=Tuna,%20Dogtooth

Have you seen some of the posts here fella's? Getting some keen women anglers in for a chat like Kimberley the bass angler and ofcourse we have "Dale and the Big Jim" fishing story on the go as well.

That big old Muskie is giving him "hell and heart palpitations" every time he takes him on.

Good to see Wayne here as well with his recent sea bass trip and Tim (basslegend) is just fishin his heart out. We are even getting a few Aussie's dropping in as well.

And ofcourse, all of them are in running for that hot CALSTAR tuna rod and those Demon Hotshot Trolling Lures.

All cool anglers who are in their and getting on the fish.

Glad to hear it and just the way it should be IMO.

Come the end of July I am going to have a "reeeaaalll" tough job deciding on winners let me tell ya.

As for the fly rod and false albies, that's a lot of fun too hey. If I have room I want to take a rod with me across to Western Samoa and work some of their flats areas.

Trouble is I am already up to the gunnels in gear and listing badly to starboard.

Might have to borrow a four piece travelling fly rod and carry it on as hand luggage. Bout the only way it's going to get their I think.

One thing is for sure, I need the casting practice.

Burnin Thumbs!

Steve B
Moderator - Lures/Baits
http://www.demonjigs.com
