Whats your best?
#1
Not trying to start any ego wars here but I was just wondering what everyones best trophy to date is.

Here are some of mine:
The first is a 6 point elk; rifle hunt in 2004 scores roughly 265
Second; 4x 4 mule deer; Muzzleload hunt 2005 scores 151 3/8 and qualifies for the NMLRA book
Third; 2x3 mule deer taken on the 2004 Muzzleload hunt. One of my most memorable hunts. My son spotted it and stalked it with me. He was beside me when we snuck up and shot the deer in his bed. He was 5 at the time.

Nice Trophies! Did you get them on public land? Over the counter tags or something you drew? I would love to take an Elk, It's my goal this year. I have never bought an elk tag because I never see them and dont really have a good spot to hunt, any tips? I'm getting a muzzleloader tag this year and my friend is taking me somewhere up by the Gorge. Hopefully I'll see something.

I've killed some nice animals over the years, especially for just being 18.

My best buck is a 180", 28" wide 4X4 from the west desert in 2005. My next best is a 175", 27" wide 4X4 from Wyoming last year. I've shot at a lot bigger, and even hit one big bugger. If I could have ever found the buck from last year, it would have been an honest 30-32" 4X4, extremely heavy, about 195-200"s.

I've also killed a nice Pronghorn out of Nevada(76" net, 15 1/2 and 15 3/4" tall horns), and a buffalo from here in Utah.

Here is my best and biggest with antlers. Taken in Alaska with my faithful 30-06 rifle. This was a real rush as I called him in from over 500 years away. I hope to get a trophy elk someday.

My best is a medium sized 4x4 that I shot with my wife sitting next to me in a lawn chair. We refer to that buck as "the lawn chair buck". I don't have any digital pics of it, but the rack is mounted and in my living room! (Only allowed since my wife was with me and its a good conversation piece!) She was with me that year for some reason and decided to go out on the opening morning hunt. I figured I may well just sit in a lawn chair on the side of a dirt road, so thats what we did. Lo and behold, as soon as it was light enough to see, there was a herd of deer with about 5 bucks in it about 100 yards away just in the sagebrush at the edge of the trees. I looked for the biggest one and shot it. We were rolling back into camp as some of the more lazy hunters in our party were just leaving to go out hunting! I've shot a lot of other deer but so far I have not shot one that I have even bothered to measure. I have yet to shoot a bull elk, except for an antlerless yearling that was a bull with no antlers yet. I also haven't yet shot a buck antelope. One of these years I'll draw out!
I know of 2 deer that have been taken that are true trophies from the mountain that we hunt. One was about 10 years ago, 5x5 with a 29 inch spread (cousin) and last year, (my brother) a 4x4 with a 27 inch spread.

Well Travis those are some nice animals that you have harvested. And Chinook, that is a fine moose. A true trophy that I am sure most any hunter worth his salt would love to have.

I hope that my best is still to come in the next few years. Thus far I have shot 6 Bull Elk. The biggist being a five point bull out of Idaho. the others, rag horns and spikes.

I have shot three antelope in Wyoming. nothing worth measuring but nice critters.

Numerous deer. Three 4x4's. the biggest being 23" smaller horn. nothing monsterous. Have seen some monsters, Although it was during the elk hunt. go figure.

I scanned in some photos of my trophys. They are 35mm that I scanned in. Didn't turn out to bad.

I have a nice black bear that I shot in Montana. Makes a nice rug on my wall.

All of the photos that I have are on 35 mm. I need to scan them in and see if they will work. I will give it a try.

I have put in for both Wyoming and Utah this year for elk and moose. Keepin my fingers crossed. I have 11 elk points and 8 moose. I know that I am probably still a few years off on drawing but I will keep putting in.
