I had a good time.... Got to shoot the breeze with Tubedude and Tubebabe (nice to meet you finally), and also saw Petty. (Shasta has some good lookin new stuff)
I was not impressed with the Sportsman's Wharehouse area at all. They really didn't have anything that I would consider a great deal.
Maniac had awesome deals on Reapers and worms. I snagged 5 packs of em for smallies at Pinewview this year.
I enjoyed watching the kids on the "ice fishing" platform. It's nice watching a kid light up when the rod goes bendo.

I wasn't impressed with sportsmans booth at all. I picked up a nice new rod and reel at the Quantum booth and I also picked up some Maniac gear. I bought me David Longs new book "Public land Mulies" at the Eastmans booth and got a free DVD with it. Flycastin and I met up with an old friend that now owns a 2500 acre trophy elk hunting ranch, that made the trip all worth it. Overall it was ok but definitely a disappointment on the sportsmans booth, they usually have some great deals.

Had a good time down there. Took my daughter, and spent most of our time at the youth fair. She had fun. Didn't buy anything, but saw some cool stuff.

It was good to meet and talk with you also Kokeking. Got a chance to say hi the TD but he was busy so I didn't get a chance to talk. Sportsmans(SW) didn't have as much fishing stuff as in years past but I still ended up getting some good deals on a new rod, backpack and fishing stuff from their bargain bin. SW had a Rocky Mountain tackle(RMT) reps there so I also bought some of their stuff but I should have waited until I got to the RMT booth[unsure]. Talked to Jared at his booth and he told me about his new bugs, can't wait to give one of them a try[ ], all of his new line of gear looks great, ice off can't come too soon[cool]. Last be not least, went by the Maniac booth, meet James and got some of his paddle tails, his new stuff looks great also. You were right James, those paddle tails were the same as the ones I used last year with Fishcrazy.
Only bad think that happened today, happened after I went to the DWR booth and scored a DVD that gives all the locations of the ATV trails in Utah. Only problem was we lost it [ ]as we were leaving, it was in a bag I got at the DWR booth. If anyone found it today I sure would like to get it back, I think my wife dropped it in the parking lot in front of the Expo.

Was Tubedude in a booth. Let me know if he is because I want to stop in today and say hi to him. James at maniac lures hooked me up with some killer soft bait for this coming year. He makes good looking stuff. I can't wait. He was so nice and helpful. Shasta was good, but I sure do like Rocky Mountain Tackle also. Jared has some great new stuff for Kokes. You should all stop by and say hello and take a look.

BK sorry i missed you also I was hoping to sit and jaw with you.Hopefully we will get a chance to do that sometime in the future. As for checking out the squids ,we sure did.Personally I was more interested in the serpent spoons that Jared had.I do most of my koke fishing with neddlefish shaped lures, and those spoons sure caught my eye. I liked the smaller blades that they were showing also.

Went down today with a buddy and had an "all-right-time"!!! The thing that still eeeeks at my last nerve is the fact that "I" HAVE TO PAY to get into a place that is trying to sell me stuff??? What sense does that make? Now if I went in there an bought a brand new fishing real they better give my $10 off (not including the "good deal" for being at the show). Then they insult you by giving you two free tickets to the show for the final day on Sunday, for what? so I come back and buy something? Gimme a break!!! Anyhow, enough of my complaining, other than that it was fun looking at all the new stuff, I thought there would be more, but oh well, I would not go back, but that is just me, maybe I am cranky since I havent been fishing in a week??? Utah Lake here I come in the morning.

I was a little disapointed with the expo this year. It did not seem as big as usual. Got to meet James with Maniac. Will be getting a hold of you and the wife for some embroidery.
Got to meet the kiilerbee. and seen a few others. Going to be a fun year of fishing.

I really enjoyed meeting with many of the BFT members at the show, it was fun to put a face to the names.
We had a good time talking with all the different people and sharing fish stories and techniques.
Thanks a bunch for all the support from all of our customers. And thanks for all the great feed back. We will see everyone next year at the show and hopefully on the Water in the near future.

I got down there Saturday. One highlight for me was meeting Tubedude and talking with him for a few minutes. Lots of stuff to see, but didn't see anything I had to have so admission and an expensive bean burrito was the extent of the damage. After we left, we went down to Lehi to the Cabelas store. It makes the Boise store look pretty weak. Man it was crowded. We did pick up a couple of wading/hiking staffs for half price, and they had some suspender type PFDs on sale for buy-one-get one-for half-price, so I grabbed two of those. We were pretty beat at the end of the day. I originally had considered staying in Pocatello and just driving down for the day - that would have been a mistake!
Overall, a good weekend getaway, but the show alone would not have been worth the drive. I also got a free set of towhook brackets from a fellow jeeper, so that was a bonus.
Hope to meet more of you in the future.
