We made our final ice trip today to the Berry. We arrived at around 0700 and 34 degress. We unloaded the snowmobiles and headed towards Bryants Fork. The ice conditons were just like I expected from previous reports. 2 inch crust followed by 4 inches of water followed by 20 inches of ice. As the day got warmer the crust got weaker and you would fall through to the solid layer. Made you pucker the first couple of times.
It was so warm we didnt even set up the tent. We ended up catching 19. (just me and my son) 3 fish went over the slot limit.( put them back for another day) And 2 broke my line trying to get them on to the ice. Good time. Good company. All in all it was a ball. Headed back to the truck by noon. And called it a season.
