Willard today

My wife finally decided to take our baby girl out for her(and my wife's) first trip in the big boat. Launched from the north marina with glass calm water and headed straight out to the west dike.
Started trolling in about 30 yards from the dike at around 2 mph. Trolled for 1/2 mile with nothing on sonar or any hits. Started a turn out to deeper water and when we got about 200 yards off the dike i had a good hit but missed it. 10 seconds later my planer board rod took a nose dive and i missed that one. Got another 30' and hooked up on a nice 20" wiper with much fight. Let my son reel him most the way in and then he netted it. He was extatic!! My daughter was in awe of the fishy in the cooler the rest of the day. No other hits but for only 2 hours of fishing i say it wasn't too bad especially for this time of year. Had a great time with the whole family in the boat now my wife wants it fixed RIGHT NOW!. Going to the boat mechanic tomorrow.
Caught all fish on holographic green rattlin raps in the middle size? Water was cool to the touch and off color a little.[Wink] Pics in a bit.

Brody, what do you have to do to your boat?
Where are you taking it?
I'm headed to Lee's Marine in the morning to pick up my motor's lower unit.
I hope to have the boat on the water this weekend.

Not bad for 2 hours of fishing. How about a picture or some info on your boat so I'll know what your in if I see you out on the lake? How did your baby girl do on her first boat ride?

Great report Brody!I'm going to get the boat out of storage this weekend and get out there.Have you tried to run some SEAFOAM thru her yet,That stuff is great at getting carbs to work right, the impeller is not that hard to due on your own either,I did mine and the two thermastats last year,It took me about half a day.
By the way, great looking family,I bet they had fun on the new boat.
Later,FNF[cool]

They loved it. As for Sea foam, do you run it in the gas or what on an outboard?

Yes LH2 you just the seafoam to your fuel. Mix it (your fuel) as you regulary would and then add the seafoam. If the gaskets haven't dreid out it may be the only fix you need for the carbs. It sometimes takes a couple of tanks.

What about a clogged jet or something to that nature? Everyone is saying that is probably what it is. If sea foam works it would be great. Thanks for the info.

Seafoam is a solvent designed to disolve old gasoline and its reidue. Use it at its maxium strenght in your fuel. It should clear the clog if there is any fuel at all getting past.

HEY IF YOU WANT SOMETHING THAT REALLY WORKS USE BG 44K. I'VE USED BOTH PRODUCTS AND THE 44K IS BY FAR THE BEST. IT'S NOT CHEAP BUT YOU WILL ONLY NEED ONE CAN OF IT.

Two ways about sea foam... one is in mixing with the gas like others have said... you will do very well to buy spray sea foam and spray it into the air intake/carbs twice or 3 times a year to get out the gas residues that almost always build up especially when trolling all day. You cant go wrong doing this. This really helps taking care of your engine when you check your plugs regularly every other time you go trolling. Trolling tends to foul mine up after three or four times. Spray sea foam in the spark plug holes and steel brush the plugs to get the gas build up off it. I do this just about everytime I come home from fishing. It helps to get intimate with your engine.
Hope it helps!

Good idea Paul, I never thought about using Sea Foam to clean my kickers spark plugs. I think I'll give it a try this weekend before I take it out for its first trip of the year. Where do you buy the spray bottles?
