Deer Creek/Jordanelle Report
#1
So our plan to go to FG fell through late last night, so a buddy and I packed up and went down to Deer Creek. We started fishing on the west side in......errrrrr......cant remember the name of the cove on my map....but anyhow, I was using..........should I keep it a secret[unimpressed]??? Just kiddin....I was using a chartreuse (spell check) maribu jig tipped with a night crawler. I was trying to sucker one of those tasty Walley's to take a nibble but I ended up with a nice fat 20" Brown. My buddy had hit after hit just casting a spoon with nothing to show for it.....I told him he has to attach a hook to the spoon to catch them[unsure]!!!! All in All a great first half of the day on DC until the wind started to blow, we managed 4 Browns and 3 Rainbows.
After DC started to get some wind we packed up and went to Jordanelle, what a diffence, NO, ZERO, ZILTCH for wind there and had a blast catching countless rainbows on a variety of lures all over the lake. I do have some pictures and I will download and post them later. I am going to try and get to FG tomorrow. Will post another report wherever we go.

Good to hear they are still biting in deer creek! [Wink] I am headed out there sunday and probably do the same as you did hit jordanelle when the wind starts to blow! How deep were ya the fish hanging out at? Last sunday i found them between 20 thru 40 feet .

Saw you up there, you came up the ramp pulling out right behind us. I fished for walleye for the first time ever and managed to wrangle a 16-incher on jig tipped with nightcrawler. We left as the wind came as well. We were up on the Heber end near where the Provo comes in.

The cove we were in was between 20-30 feet and the fish were suspended around 16-20 feet. As far as the wind goes, I did not want to turn up like those poor souls at Strawberry last year so we decided a Walleye is not worth the risk. Let me know how everyone does if you go to DC or Jordanelle. I am up (330 am Saturday) to take the drive to FG, will post report when I get home tonight, not matter the outcome.

I went to sportsmans in provo and looked at the canon downriggers and compared them to cabelas. Cabelas downriggers brings the clips and the ball the ones at sportsmans dont bring either you have to buy them seperate. So if i bought it at sportsmans i would end up paying about $30 more than cabelas. For that price i can get a better donrigger for $20 more at cabelas . I will stop by cabelas sometime this week and get me one.
