i took a freind from work that hasent had the chance or experiance to fish mutch out today at eastcanyon. we got thereat 8:30 and walked down to the lake i set both my poles up and helped him out with his. first cast it didnt even hit bottom pulled in a chubby 14". finaly get both poles out and bam bam two fish on and my buddys getting a hit on his missed one and he nailed his. it was fast and furious until 11:00 with fish bitting until i left at 1:00 i was fishing the first cove towards the river. greeen and rainbow power bait worked the best. right now would be a great time to take the little ones out for some fast fishing . good luck out there and tight lines.

We had the same kind of fantastic action last weekend too. I'm surpri9sed at how late in the afternoon the bite has continued and how shallow the fish are! If you go early, keep your baits close to shore and work out as the day progresses. Otherwise, you'll cast right over the fishies!
Flycasting, no need for a tube, man! By the time you get in the water, the bank anglers will have their limits! B)

I took my Dad and two boys up to EC on Saturday. The weather started out cool, but the catching was good. My youngest son, age 6, caught his first trout by himself. The expression on his face when the fish jumped right next to the boat was priceless. We were trolling using standard stuff. We found a ridge near the dam that was holding a lot of fish. This fish we caught were very shallow as is normal for early spring. If I remember right the water temp was 40 degrees.
