Took my son to EC today at about 9 am and headed east from the ramp and then cut south along the west shore clear to Taylor. Picked up 2 fish right off the ramp on raps down 20' and another nice 18" and fat bow down 35' with a brown trout rap. Marked alot of fish on the west side but they were not hungry. Trolled about halfway to the inlet and decided to go back by the ramp. Packed up and headed back over there. Trolled around the ne arm for a bit with no takers and then headed over to the dam area. The moment i got the down rigger set it sprung with the first of 25 fish in that area. After the first fish on a rap down 25' they would not touch it again. I ended up putting down 3 colors of leaded line , popgear and a juicy crawler. They would not leave it alone. Constant bites and fish the rest of the day till we left at 5. The only bad thing about today was the fact that we lost a 25"+ 8# bow at the boat!![mad] That fish was huge! One of the 4 i kept was only 14" long but it must have been 6" from back to belly! Extremely healthy fish this year. Fun day and i am definately going back.

That fish was as fat a bow as i have seen. By far the largest fish i have personally seen either in or taken from EC. I am not sure on length. That is why i put 25"+. I think 8# is very close to the right weight.

Excellent report! I was hoping to hit the Berry with the boat this weekend, but as per Kents report, I doubt it will be ice free. Might go wet the line at East Canyon.

I would have returned it after a good pic. I won't keep another trophy trout. Already got one and have no money for another mount.

the one i caught a few years ago up at east was 26.5" long and weight 8lbs. so i could believe a 25in might go 9lb with the forage they got in there now. seams like the fish are alittle chunkyer these days

How much does a good Trophy Fish mount run now adays? I am sure it all depends on the size, so lets say like the one you have of the Brown?

Generally $12-$14/inch. My brown would have cost me $about$350 back then. A 10" perch is about $120.
