Operation Game Thief
#1
As the new fishing reason swings into gear I urge all of you to program the Operation Game Thief number into your cell phones so you can report fishing and wildlife violations when you see them. These folks who are keeping fish in catch & release waters, keeping undersized fish, keeping over their limit, etc., are stealing from all of us! Get a description and car license number if possible.

The call is toll-free within Colorado at 1-877-COLO-OGT, Verizon cell phone users can dial #OGT.

Callers do not have to reveal their names or testify in court. A reward of $500 is offered for information on cases involving big game or endangered species, while $250 is offered for information on turkey and $100 for fishing and small game cases. A Citizens Committee administers the reward fund, which is maintained by private contributions. The Board may approve rewards of up to $1,000 for flagrant cases. Rewards are paid for information which leads to an arrest or a citation being issued. An 877 number is the same as a 800 number. Yes, it's free. The verizon number is a short cut and dials the 877 number.

And for you hunters this is a big incentive! Win/Win!
[li]If a person reports a violation which results in a charge of illegal take or possession, they may receive preference points or an over the counter license.
