[cool]I ain't no purist and I ain't no specialist. I'm an equal opportunity kind of guy. My favorite fish is the one that just jumped on my lure and is bending my stick and stretching my string. I still get a rush out of hooking bluegill on flyrods or light tackle.

But, like most fisherfolk, I do have favorites...not just one. For beautiful fish in beautiful surroundings, I go for steelhead along the northwest coast.

For power and stamina, it has to be yellowfin tuna. In fresh water, the nod goes to big old flathead catfish. Maybe even big carp.

For finicky and simultaneous good eating...it's walleyes.

For gathering up the fixin's for a fish fry, I vote for yellow perch, white bass or channel cats.

For challenging but exciting and satisfying, I go with largemouth. For a tougher fight, in a smaller fish, I vote for the smallie.

For aerial display, it's a rainbow...with shallow water largemouth being right there with them.

For a combination of finesse, size, ferocious...and both toothy and toothsome...it's gotta be inshore halibut, on light tackle. (Any dissenting opinion Kiyo?)

Like TubeDude, anything that bends my rod.... I consider myself lucky when I catch fish!!!! One time I was campin' near a stream... no fishin pole or anything (was not plannin' on fishin). decided to hook a cooked shrimp on a hook tied to a thin nylon line with a stick attached to the ground...[shocked] wound up with a 5lb carp... [sly]that was fun. was not expecting fish. Like I said anyfish I catch would be my favorite... for the moment...[sly]

I am very dissapointed when I pull up something that isn't a legal 'butt!! Unless it's a legal White Sea Bass!!![Image: 27_laughing.gif] [Image: 27_laughing.gif] [Image: 27_laughing.gif] [/size][/font]

[cool]Hey, Ralph, you're among friends here. I doubt you will get any argument.

Just curious, though. How did you become such a flattie addict?
