I have been craving some mudbugs lately and was wondering if anyone knows if it is too early to catch some? I am out in the basin, but will be headed back tomorrow evening and was thinking I could stop at a productive spot and try to catch some on the way home. Usually I catch lots at soldier creek on strawberry and was considering that, but if anyone knows somewhere else that would be better I am open to suggestions it just has to be somewhere on the rout from the uintah basin to orem or possibly salt lake if I have to take my brother home. Anyway any advice would be greatly appreciated,

I haven't tried to catch any, but i have seen quite a few around the ramp at EC. Not on your rout but maybe they are acting the same at the berry. Good luck and let us know what you find.

You should be able to catch them at Starvation but Soldier creek has the largest ones I've seen. We tried for them two weeks ago at the Gorge but only caught one. I don't know if it was too early or we were in the wrong area. Let us know how you do. WH2

[cool][#0000ff]Da bugs are active all year in Strawberry, even under the ice. But, they tend to come shallow only after the water warms a bit. Might be a bit early at Soldier Creek. Starvation would probably be a better bet this early. I saw a couple of dead ones near shore last week but was not really looking for live ones.[/#0000ff]

I was out at Grantsville Res. with the scouts on June 19th and we caught quite a few crawfish there. The boys were using a hunk of meat on some fishing line. they had a good time doing it.
