NEW KAYAK BOARD
#1
[cool][#0000ff]Hey [/#0000ff][blue]all of you BFT kayak fans, this is an announcement to let you know that I have been able to get BFT to set up a new KAYAK board. [/blue][url "http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?do=forum_view&forum=172&"][blue]LINK TO NEW BOARD[/blue][/url][blue]

Our float tubing board has been very successful over the past three or four years, and the sport of kayaking is growing by leaps and bounds. lots of our tubers are yakkers too, and there are plenty of yakkers who have given up canoes, float tubes, pontoons and boats. Some of the new models are designed strictly as fishing craft and they are really great.

Here is an invitation to drop in and check out the new board. If you are a yakker, bring some pictures to post. We plan to build a huge picture board for lots of different models and all kinds of species being taken from yaks these days.

Pat,

Let me be the first to thank you. I was a yakker long before I became a float tuber. I spent many enjoyable summers fishing and camping with my sit in kayak. When I got my Fat Cat I was really impressed with the fact that I could fish more efficiently than ever before. I don't think the kayak can ever give the same efficiency as a modern float tube.

The modern sit-on-top kayaks like my new Tarpon 120 are very efficient for trolling and moving quickly from place to place. They fish much better than the sit inside yaks and are particulary efficent in paddle and wade river fishing. I will likely be packing or towing my tube with the kayak on future stillwater fishing/camping trips. Travel quickly and efficiently with the kayak and then get in the tube for total control flyfishing. Here's a picture of my new yak.

That is a nice looking yak. I have the Cobra Triple. It is a 3 seater and rather long but it is just right for 2 people to tackle the Saltwater action of the Pacific Ocean.

I like the width of the Cobra Triple because you can actually stand on top of it with low swell and fish off of it standing up.[cool]

Yakkity yak, yak yak!!! That's a nice Bass Pilgrim. Way to go.[cool]

When it comes to Tubin and Yakkin, it is ok to have one of each. You might even end up with a pontoon over time too. It's all good.[Smile]
