Fishing Report Millstone River, NJ, June 04, 2007
#1
went fishing today, rivers were muddy so i figured i would try it in the millstone for some catfish. and thats what i cought. I started off with a smallie .... first one ever that i cought in muddy water. Then i started catching catfish....mostly little yellow bullhead. I got one nice Channel catfish. After about 9:30 i started catching eels. Since i wasnt planning on going for stripers i figured i would call it quits for the night. All the fish were cought on night Crawlers on the bottom.

Hmmm interesting.... i know i saw them stocking them a few years ago when i was fishing i saw them dropping them off of the wilbersmith bridge.... they looked like what i thought were pike or muskie.... it could be possiable that there are some tiger muskie in there considering i have seen them in the raritain while fishing for smallies.... they would chase them up as i was reeling the smallies in.....

yes Tiger Muskies were stocked in the carnagie lake part of the milstone river , I have caught 2 of them.
they were very fat from eating all the stunted crappie in the lake.

They stocked muskies in 2005 in carnagie lake alsop here is the breakdown for muskie stocking in2005 clipped from the website
475 into carnagie that year - they will get HUGE eating crappie and I hope to catch a few trolling the lake soon!
[#ff0000]I am the only person I have seen on the lake trolling for muskie and northerns on this lake ..shh don't tell anyone please! [/#ff0000]
the lake is chocking with crappie all stunted! the fish will grow fast- ICE fishing has been my best -- there is even yellow perch in there along with the trout that swim in from the lawrence brook stockings, but they die off when it gets too warm... some of the pike and muskies are surly feasting on trout! BY the dingy bridge I have seen large fish chasing them!
