Starvation with the Dude
#1
Met up with TD this morning in a darkened parking lot for the trip to Starvation. After a few pleasentrys we load my gear into his vehicle and off we went.

Nice ride to the lake we chatted about most evrything. I was axious to try some new goodies he had put together.

Heck I don't remember what time we arrived. It jus took me forever to get launched this morning. TD had his 1st fish before I even broke water..........

Well fishin was kind of slow for me right out of the shoot. TDs new fangled goodies took a second or two to get the action just right on. Lots and lots of little perch for me I mean lots!!! The wind was blowing lightly from the north when we got, but that was going to change ... often. Water was a bit cool to the touch LMAO. TD toughed it today and went wet. Around 57 at launch and never got above 61 all day. Being the old tough trooper that he is ... he just sucked them up and kept on fishin!

While I was having fun with the tiny perch he was baggin out the big boys. After awhile I decided to start throwing hard palstic. Had a new lure I wanted to try at Willard. Since I wasn't at Willard, Starvation would just have to do. 5 Cast 5 smallies. The smallest being just over 13 and the largest just under 17". I wish I would f had a bouey to maek that spot!!

Well the wind blew me off track and I never found it again. No compaints here I was have in a ball.

I'm sure TD will post up. I ended the day with 4 spieces, samllies, perch, walleye, and chub.
TD did the same only he had the hot rod with a mess of larger perch and several walleyes of varing sizes. Heres some of the pics that actually came out. Had a camera malfunction along with the brain malfunction today.

[cool][#0000ff]Hey Marty, you beat me on the Tubing Board but I got my report up first on the Utah Board. Here's my version.[/#0000ff]

[black][size 1][cool][size 2][blue]TubeBabe's still outta town, until tomorrow. So, Marty (road) and I made it a boys only excursion to Starvation.

We talked about making the drive around to Knight's Hollow and fishing S Wash. But, we opted to put in first at "Bunnyville"...with going anywhere else as Plan B in case the fish didn't wanna play at the first stop.

We were on the water by 7:30. Air temp around 45 and water temp a chilly 58. At least it was chilly to me. I figured the temp would be up close to the mid 60's, so I was tubing "wet"...no waders. Actually it didn't bother me much, once I got numb.

Fishing started slow. Didn't see much on sonar and we kicked around to all the usual good spots. Picked up a dink perch here and there, but no basket fish (over 10"). Nary a poke from a walleye.

There was a steady north breeze from the time we launched until about 9:30. When it stopped, and the water turned flat, the fish started playing. Lots of bitty perch, a few middles and even fewer basket fish. But, plenty of bites to keep us interested.

After 10 o'clock we were quite a ways apart. I was whacking a few perch, several smallies and even scored a couple of small wallies. Road kicked in to a promising looking stretch of shoreline and got into a session with some hefty smallies. I'm sure he will tell the story when he posts.

The breeze kept changing. During the time we spent (until about 3) the wind blew from just about every direction it could think of. It never blew hard enough to make us want to leave the water, but it gave our old legs a good workout.

The water temp got up to about 64 by the time we got off the water. I was not exactly sweating, but it felt better than 58.

We both went through a lot of crawlers, tipping a wide variety of jigs and catching fish on almost everything. Our best action seemed to be in 15 to 16 feet, but we caught fish both shallower and deeper.

I think I ended up with 10 keeper perch and three walleyes from 12" to 16". Plenty for a couple of meals for me and TubeBabe when she gets back. Marty kept only a few for the table, but we both "sore-lipped" a grundle of perchlets.

All in all, a nice day on the water...and we didn't have to go to plan B. Always fun to fish with Marty. Even if he leaves the walkie talkie in the car after 10 reminders. He must not like to hear me yammering on the water, because last time it was "bad batteries". Hey, I don't need that. I can be ignored at home.

Ya think kiddo? Thats only half what I took. The others are lost in the camera some where. You would think a guy who can build computers could figure out a simple camera. Maybe by the next trip. And your right they are backwards but hey they still came out NOT fuzzy.
