Gorgeous Gorge Trip 21 - 27 June
#1
[#008080]Returned today from a Gorgeous week at the Gorge with the family. Couldn't have asked for better weather. There was only 2 seperate times that the W blew, but it was in the late evening, so it didn't restrict our fishing.
Petty4Life joined us for 2 days of fun.
Caught lots of "small" Kokes and Rainbows, but still got into plenty of the bigger ones. Sure made good eats at the end of the day.
Used a variety of Shasta Tackle Sling Blades with Humdingers, Cripplures and Pee Wee J's. Also used was Pro-Cure Super Gel Bait Scents.

[#008080]Yesterday we even caught tons of Kokes and Rainbows well after most folks give up on the morning bite. We caught fish clear thru 2:30, and finally came back to camp to get some rest. It was pretty brutal in the hot sun of the day.

What's the deal with the double sling blade trick? I have never seen that before, what's the purpose?

[#008080]The first blade, usually the largest of the two, will dodge back and forth, causing the second blade to dodge more than normal, which gives way more action to the lure, which causes more reactive strikes because of the flash/color and the motion.[/#008080]
[#008080][/#008080]
[#008080]If you are using a Koke-a-Nut, it does not have any action on it's own, so with a blade or in this case, tandum blades, gives the Koke-a-Nut a great action.[/#008080]

[#008080]Hope this is the answer you were looking for.[/#008080]

Great post Ticker! Very informative and it sounds like you really got into the Kokes. By the way, are you the new Shasta Rep and how did you gain such expertise in the art of Koke slaying? I'll bet Dawsy was your mentor!!

[#008080]Didn't get into them as well as I would have liked. Not like back in the prime years.[/#008080]
[#008080]The expertise I gained was from you, oh great one.[Wink][/#008080]
[#008080]I grew up fishing for Kokanee, but you taught me all about the Gorge, and I thank you for that.[/#008080]
