[blue]Old_Coot and I tried out the new boat [blue](new[/blue] to me) on Willard last night. The motor on the other boat seized last Friday so it’s up for grabs, Cheap. We got on the water about 8:00pm and headed west then south from the south marina with no luck. Plenty of fish on the fish finder but none on our lines. The water was around 80 degrees and just a slight breeze to keep the bugs away, after about an hour there was a storm from the west that kicked us off the mud hole. While we were getting ready to run from the “W” that’s when I got the only hit, at least that’s what I’m calling it. Any way it was fun just to get out and chase the fish around. I always have a good time fishing with you Coot, thanks for going.[/blue]

[#000080]Yea ... once again my theory seems to be valid that wipers get lock-jaw when a low pressure comes in. Hopefully, Friday evening, the barometric pressure will have stabilized a bit. I plan to give it another go Friday evening.[/#000080]

I agree 100% with your theory on the lock jaw with a front coming in. More times than not while launching the boat I can predict the outcome. My cousin hates it when I do that. He says "If we aren't going to catch fish, keep it to yourself so that I can at least hope to catch a fish...".
I've actually been out catching fish and then see a front coming in from a distance and the bite turns off. At first I thought it was coincidence, but so far the coincidences have been 100%.
If I lived closer to Willard, that still wouldn't deter me from going out and trying! But living in South Jordan, by the time I get off work everyone else is off work also and it would take me 3 hours to get there in traffic!
The only time I usually go is 5:00 a.m. Saturday mornings!
