Strawberry 8/18 with the nephews...
#1
I took my brother and his 3 boys up to Strawberry on Saturday. His boys are 15, 12 and 8.
We anchored out in the Ladders and after a very slow start before daylight finally started catching fish.
We stayed till 11:00 and sometimes we had doubles and triples on, but other times, we would wait 10 or 15 minutes without a bite. Seems like the fish schools were coming around a lot less frequently than in weeks prior.
We ended up catching a lot of fish, considering that there was 5 of us fishing, and some of us with two poles. Jeffrey, the 8 year old, outfished his brothers and his dad, with 26 fish all by himself! His older brothers also did very well but didn't catch as many as him!
My brother barely had time to fish as he was busy rerigging, untangling, dejigging, releasing, etc. It was good to see him doing that since that is what I've been doing the last few weeks with my guests!
We caught quite a few over the slot and kept 2 of them. All were Cutthroats, and no Rainbows this time.
I saw Kentofnsl out there and noticed that his crew was catching pretty consistently also!

I used to N.ot have E.nough T.ime O.ff to go fishing.  Then I retired.  Now I have less time than I had before. Sheesh.

Yep, we did ok after a slow start. You left at the right time -- you must have taken most of the fish with you.[cool] We caught some after you left, but it was much slower (of course the wind came up which didn't help).
