I'm headed to Starvation for a few days this week for a little walleye action, and was wondering if any ones fished it lately. Any news good or bad much appreciated. [cool][cool]
Thanks,
Mike

Fished last weekend, it was good in the Strawberry River Cave and Rabbit gulch. Bottom bouncers and Walle Divers. Salturas Wash did not produce at all.

Glad you are headed down this way Mike, You will be going by my Elk camp on your way down. I heard they were going to try and do a benifit there for Roger is that why you're headed this way? If you get this shoot me a PM. I fished it fairly often this summer and did great on several trips. I'm leaving tomorrow for the Archery Elk opener Thurs. Have a great trip.

Hit it Fri. the 17th. Caught fish on crank baits and jig head with a nightcrawler. Caught 9 eyes and a bunch of smallies. Kept 6 walleyes. 2 really nice ones. Caught fish every where we fished.

[cool][#0000ff]Starvation is definitely a "90/10" pond. 90% of the fish can be in only 10% of the water. If you find them you can usually catch them...not always. They can be fickle.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]You would think that there would be fish all over the lake, but that does not seem to be the case. Starvation regulars have their proven areas that usually hold fish...even on changing water conditions. But, even the most successful Starvation anglers sometimes have to look in several places...and change tactics...before finding fish on any given trip.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Anybody who tells you that they catch lots of fish on every trip to Starvation will lie about other things too.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Probably the best example is the ice fishing picture for that lake. It holds bajillions of walleyes, perch and smallmouth...and some good trout too. BUT...last winter there were a whole lot of savvy chiller-drillers who swiss cheesed that whole lake without finding a mark on sonar...from shallow to deep. The fish have to be somewhere...but where?[/#0000ff]
