I haven't been to Utah lake for a while now. With all the water being drained out of Deer Creek is it keeping the water level up at Utah lake? What the water temp as well? Anyone?

[cool][#0000ff]I keep fishing logs by dates, species and waters. Looking at my Utah Lake entries for 8/14 and 8/21 I note that the water temps are running from the low to mid 70's. That should start downward soon.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The water level for the lake is about 3 feet down from the high water mark of June. Still plenty of water but many of the prime fishing spots in the shoreline reeds are now too shallow for good bobber fishing.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The good news is that many of the structure areas (Lincoln Beach, the west side, etc.) will have water at ideal levels for attracting walleyes and whities to play this fall.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The bad news is that there are large areas in some parts of the lake that are choked with heavy mats of that thick water weed. Good cover for fish, but impossible to fish in. Often a good bet to fish around the edges though.[/#0000ff]
