Pontoon Boats & Kayak Paddles
#1
You guys think it's possible to use a kayak paddle on a pontoon boat?

[black]Nothing wrong with using a kayak paddle on your toon. [/black]

But by using fins, you have your hands free to fish. Using the oars with a toon, works very well, and they are out of your way when fishing.

A kayak paddle has to be balanced on your lap while fishing, and your rod stowed while paddling.

Oars and fins work really well, and I'm sure that they require less effort to move around.

They would have to be quite long. A pontoon is a lot wider than a kayak. The oars that came with my Navigator II are too short even. I ended up putting the paddle section from my Cardiac Canyon on the handle of the Navi making it about 8" longer. Now they are fantastic.
I think it would be very tough trying to paddle a pontoon, cause it will be turning from side to side. They are very responsive.
